MuckBoots Men’s Arctic Pro Hunting Boots have the bold look and striking style you've been looking for!
Hunting in extremely cold weather always presents its own set of challenges, mainly with keeping your hands and feet warm — even in snow, or severe wind chills. If you wear the wrong hunting boots, you could very well be dealing with frozen feet by the end of the, and a lot of other issues.
MuckBoots literally invented the MuckBoots design, and their Arctic Pro hunting boots are the peak of their cold weather hunting boot collections. Rated for temperatures all the way down to -60 degrees Fahrenheit, these boots will keep your feet warm, dry, and comfortable throughout your hunt and beyond.
If you’ve had a bad experience with other hunting boots rated for freezing weather, you may want to give these a look. The Arctic Pro’s are incredibly effective for a variety of harsh conditions, and perfect for those routinely hunting in snow, or when the temperatures are far below freezing.
The outer part of the boot utilizes a number of different rubber portions, with plenty of flexibility in all the right spots. As expected, the outer surface leaves no entrance for any moisture whatsoever. Starting towards the ankle area and up to the calf, the boot is made from neoprene and nylon.
A rubber-molded Bob-Tracker outsole is slightly geared towards providing traction in snowy conditions, but the tread design is versatile enough for dry weather, grasslands, and traction on rocky surfaces as well.
Just under the rubber outer is a 2mm thick layer of thermal foam that is responsible for trapping heat within the boot. As for the lining, fleece is used from the bottom of the boot all the way up the calf, providing a ton of comfort, and even more heat.
First and foremost, these boots are amazing in cold weather. In fact, I know some people that use them for work and not just hunting, especially some of my oilfield friends. As long as you are wearing the right socks, you’ll be practically invincible...at least with your feet.
Sometimes, with boots rated for weather like this, you have to sacrifice some flexibility and comfort for the protection. Not the case with the Arctic Pro’s. The fleece lining all over the insides of the boots is a nice touch, and makes them comfortable to wear all day.
The tread on these can be a little bulky if you’re climbing a tree stand. It would be nice to see Muck Boot come out with some alternate treads in conjunction with different colors.
Make sure to consider your primary use for these before buying. If you are going to be doing a lot of sitting in a tree stand, order a full size up so you can wear thicker socks. If you’re going to be using these for a lot of walking, order half a size up and wear thinner socks.
If you deal with frigid temperatures, it’s hard to think of boots better than the Arctic Pro’s. They aren’t flashy, and don’t have a lot of innovation or features, but they make use of a smart design and high-quality material to deliver one of the best freezing weather hunting boots on the market.
